FreeScan Combo from SHINING 3D

Portable.Powerful.Fast.
TrueProp now offers a more powerful, metrology grade propeller virtual inspection package for scanning larger propellers even faster.  Introducing the TrueProp Virtual Bundle with the FreeScan Combo handheld scanner. In addition to a higher level of accuracy, the FreeScan Combo offers 50% faster scanning speeds with a more powerful laser sensor and additional cross-hatch acquisition lines.​
​Tackle the biggest jobs with confidence. Using 26 laser lines and a larger field of view, the FreeScan Combo is twice as fast as the EinScan HX. Propellers as large as 160 inches can be scanned using the TrueProp Virtual bundle with FreeScan Combo. Radial lines are used to extract ISO-484 data which mimics the traditional pitchometer process, etching scan lines into the captured propeller in 3D.

Compared to the EinScan HX (our entry-level 3D scan package), the FreeScan Combo​ from SHINING 3D has some major advantages:
  • ​Smaller and lighter handheld unit
  • 26 laser lines (HX uses 14)
  • Higher class laser (much brighter)
  • 50% faster acquisition speed
  • 0.02mm accuracy (HX is 0.04mm)
  • Single line laser mode (ideal for shaft bore)

The scanner’s STL output is perfect for analysis with TrueProp: Virtual Edition. Using the TrueProp Virtual Plugin, even non-watertight STL meshes can be interrogated at the ISO-484 radial positions. This provides us with the pitch, chord lengths, blade outline, and other inspection metrics used for TrueProp’s Class reports.

Computer Requirements
It takes a bit more computer power to 3D scan a propeller! The scanner sends raw data to the PC to be stored and meshed to create the propeller so you need to have enough RAM and a dedicated graphics card (GPU) for the best results!


Recommended Specifications:
• Windows 10/11, 64-bit 
• Processor – I7-10700 or better equivalent
• RAM Memory – 32 GB or greater
• Graphics Card Video - NVIDIA RTX 3060 and higher with at least 6GB video memory
• Interface – High Speed USB (3.0)
