December 7-10,  2023:  TrueProp at  National Marine Propeller Association's (NMPA) Marine Propulsion Expo - Fort Lauderdale, FL

Picture
TrueProp will be performing a LIVE demonstration that you don't want to miss:

Join TrueProp Software for a live demonstration of computerized propeller inspection, including new methods to digitally inspect propellers almost anywhere. This interactive seminar includes scanning propellers with digital pitchometers as well as hand-held 3D scanners. TrueProp will guide users through the inspection process to show how damage is identified and how it can be repaired. TrueProp will also be debuting a new to the industry computerized propeller inspection device. This new “kit” based pitchometer system is easy to ship and setup, allowing propeller shops to start running ISO-484 inspections on propellers up to 48 inches. Come get your questions answered and see the latest generation in prop measurement technology!

TrueProp will be participating alongside our partner company HydroComp, who will also be presenting.

June 20-21, 2023: Adam Kaplan Presented at Ship Repair USA - New Orleans,  LA

Picture
Our very own industry-expert and Chief Technical Officer, Adam Kaplan presented Propeller Damage and Repair.

Propeller Damage &  Repair

Ship propellers are an absolutely critical maintenance item for ship operators, ship yards, and repair facilities. Damage occurs from many different sources, including groundings, strikes, ingestion of debris, cavitation erosion from high thrust conditions, galvanic corrosion from failed protection systems, and other unpleasant phenomena. This presentation seeks to provide education and discussion on the following:
  • Types of propeller damage seen during maintenance and repair.
  • Impact of propeller damage on ship operations.
  • How damage is measured and is it repairable.
  • What to expect from a quality propeller repair.
This presentation also showed tools and techniques used by propeller repair professionals from across the United States, including new methods for determining damage from a propeller without removing the propeller from the ship. These technological advances, known as “in situ” propeller inspection, allow shipyards to quantify damage and determine if propeller removal is necessary during standard dry-dock maintenance schedules. This can lead to substantial costs savings compared to removing and transporting the propeller to a dedicated propeller shop.
